It is typically used to hold back Above Ground Pool, Hot Tub or Spa water while the filter is being changed or maintenance is being done on the pump but has many other applications. It has a one piece (body and fittings) UniBody configuration which is made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC). It can be used in any application that requires less than 75 pounds per square inch (PSI) of working pressure and is in an easily accessible location as it is not repairable. Easy push pull operation; locks in the closed position and comes with a gate keeper to hold the valve open. This valve is designed for use with clean water. The handle is threaded for easy replacement – if you do so be sure not to damage the valve shaft. The fittings receive 1-1/2 pipe. Its shaft is made of 304 stainless steel; the paddle material is polypropylene (PP); the seals are made of thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) for dimensional stability. All materials resist corrosion and mild chemicals. It has a working pressure rating of 75 (PSI) in both the open and closed positions. The maximum temperature rating for the 2101X is 167 degrees F (75 degrees C). Please note: Paddle is slightly smaller than opening to ease opening/closing. Valve seals cover any gaps and ensure no leaks.
